Chubbiness

Turns out I have PCOS (not the voting machine, silly!). It's poly cystic ovarian syndrome.

I wonder if they have this in Powerbooks.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is the most common endocrine cause of infertility and serious weight gain in young women. It affects millions—experts estimate about 6 to 10 percent of reproductive age women struggle with this devastating metabolic imbalance. Look around schools and malls in this country and you see the impact of this burgeoning epidemic: obese young women are everywhere. The numbers are staggering. The health risks are overwhelming—from increased risk of teenaged diabetes to young mothers with heart attacks or strokes, and early onset of breast and uterine cancers. Early treatment is key to preventing serious health risks, but most sufferers don’t even know they have PCOS.Nor do doctors take it as seriously, often minimizing symptoms like excess body hair, weight gain, acne or thinning scalp hair, thinking they are just cosmetic” problems of overanxious young women. Gynecologists focus on helping women get pregnant rather than treating acne or weight gain. Endocrinologists typically consider ovarian problems the “turf ” of gynecologists. Mood swings in PCOS can be severe, but psychiatrists typically don’t check hormones, so they don’t identify PCOS either. What’s a woman to do? It’s not enough for doctors to tell women with PCOS to just “eat less and exercise more.” Women need a practical guide to help them understand the disorder, know what tests to ask for, what the tests mean, what treatments are available, and how to take a stepwise approach to healthy hormone balance, sound meal plans, exercise, and stress management. This book provides the practical, user-friendly guide that women desperately need to be successful in getting help for this devastating disorder.

Organic Rituals Spa

I love getting massages. My first one was a Thai massage during my ex office's Bangkok outing. It was for free and it was sooo good! After that I get massages in Manila. I even introduced massage to Zola who got addicted to it. :)

The next best massage I got after the Thai massage was the lymphatic massage I got from my friend Nikki's spa, Organic Rituals Spa in the mezzanine floor of Atlanta Centre located along Annapolis St in Greenhills. You can even choose your oil, I chose Green Tea. I felt energized after. Ang sarap! A little research on the internet says lymphatic massage aids in getting rid of toxins in your body. The therapist said ang dami kong "lamig" sa katawan and the fatty deposits are usually on my hips and legs that's why it hurts when she massages it. :(( When I paid the cashier told me that lymphatic massage helps in losing weight. Not quite sure how though...

After the massage, I waited for my consultation session with the in-house US-certified nutritionist, Miss Nadine Tengco. I didn't know she was the nutritionist until Nikki told me. She was an ex-neighbor who used to buy cigarettes from our bakery. HAHAHA. This is my view while waiting for my turn:

The nail spa chairs!

Miss Nadine gave me brochure while she was printing out some forms for me to fill up.

She asked about my eating habits (I eat several times a day including snacks!), my exercise regimen (not getting any right now cos I'm lazy and I get tired of the workout after I enroll - I also mentioned that I tried yoga, boxing and home videos - 30 day shred by Jillian Michaels) and finally my menstruation (Sooo not regular). From what I told her, she told me that she is almost sure that I have a hormonal/thyroid problem. She told me to take a couple of tests (I scheduled all my tests tomorrow morning). I'll see her after I get the test results. I'm kinda scared. She told me that I have to undergo detox then she will plan my treatment after that. Most girls with hormonal problems lose about 5 lbs after detox. I hope this works. :)

General Admission

Watched Usher live! Guess what our tickets were:

General Admission! I watched with Carla and Anya. All of us didn't have cameras. We bumped into Erika who asked a photo! Yay!

I usually make an excuse that I don't really like Usher to spend for VIP or Gold tickets. The truth is, I don't have enough money to buy tickets with a good view. Add the fact that I am not well-connected to score free tickets. Same goes with Lady GaGa, Chris Brown even the Eraserheads. I am content with just hearing them live and watching them on the big screen. But yeah, it would be great if we were in the section with a good view and nicer-looking people. As I've said earlier, beggars can't be choosers so for the meantime, I'll be in the back section tiptoeing to see not the stage, but the big screen in front of me. :)

It Must Be Said

I have a crush on these two. But more on Alison Brie.

And of course, I have a crush on him too. The greatest crush of them all. I love Joel McHale!

Community Season 2, please hurry up!!!

BIS

I don't buy my phones. I usually inherit it from my mum. I'm lucky cos she usually likes to change phones now and then. I recently inherited this from her.

My boyfriend says it looks like Iron Man because of the trackball. I agree. :) But the optical trackpad on my mom's BB 9700 is so much better. Beggars like me cannot be choosers!

My old unit was a Nokia N97 which you guessed it, came from my mom too! It kept hanging on me. I don't know if it is because I keep dropping it or what. I find using a Blackberry more convenient because I could just sync my phone contents with our iMac. The BB desktop manager is a no-brainer compared to the Nokia PC Suite. I nuked my BB when I tried to upgrade its OS so I would be able to download Facebook and Twitter for Blackberry. I found out that I could only fix it through a PC. A lot of users say BB works best with a PC. I was fortunate to choose a Windows laptop instead of a Mac so I was able to resurrect it. It kept me all night before I was able to fix it. KALOKA.

I subscribed to my network Globe's Blackberry Internet Service data plan for 10 days. It was fun while it lasted. I enjoyed to talking to my friend in the US using BB Instant Messaging. ANG GALING! I could tweet and Facebook all day! I could also check my emails through my phone! But I didn't really need it so when my 5 day plan expired, I didn't subscribe again. Maybe I'll subscribe 5 days (worth Php220, 1 day is Php50 and 30 days is Php1,200) every month so I could catch up on my BB IM friends. :)

Republiq

Republiq is on the second floor of ResortsWorld Manila in Newport City. I was expecting it to be like Embassy but it was even better! I haven't been to Vegas, you see. My friends who have been to the States said that RWM is just like Vegas only a lot smaller. When I got off the escalator, I was in awe! Ang ganda. It was like Eastwood City Walk but with a high ceiling!!! There were a lot of establishments aside from Republiq like Cafe Republiq, UCC and others soon to open like Red Crab. On the first floor, Prada, Gucci and Bulgari are going to open! I can't wait to ogle at the window displays - I'm too poor to go inside. Too bad I forgot to bring my camera again! This is becoming a habit. Events that matter are too precious to be captured! What a lame excuse. :)

Inside Republiq is a different story. It's much much better than Embassy or Encore! We went there after the Preview Best Dressed Ball so there were lots of beautiful people. It was an extension of Mica's birthday celebration. One of the funnest nights I've had for a while even if I am not that into trance music. I think it has something to do with the tequila shot I had before we went there...

Inside Republiq with Carla, Mica and Lynn. :)

Forever 21

My friend Anya and I trooped to Megamall to get first dibs on the real Forever 21! We got Php200 vouchers! Yayyy!

While waiting for the store to open...

One of the first 250! The early bird catches the worm!

I took this when I told the sales assistant to get the rest of my chosen pieces out of my shopping bag. You could only fit 6 pieces at a time. :)

There wasn't a long line when I went to the fitting room. I waited for 3-5 minutes when I got out ang haba na!!! The cashier line is another story! I was in line with Miss Jenni Epperson. When it was her turn she blurted out "Oh Thank God!" She made beso with me when she left. She's so nice. :) After our retail therapy, we had lunch with Venjo. After about an hour, we passed by Forever21 and the line is still crazy!

Angus, Thongs and < ? > Snogging

I didn't know there was a movie version but I read the book years ago! I liked the movie although it was a bit different from the book, from what I remember. I like Jas. And Tom!

This is the cover of the book I own:

There is a glossary at the end that "American Readers" can refer to for British slang terms. How cute! I also read the other books. I borrowed from Martha's friend. I read two books, I think. I can't remember the other one but this is my favorite that's why I remember (I couldn't find the exact cover!):

I could totally relate with Georgia back then - until now. Most of the time I feel ugly and lucky to have someone to love me. ♥
